Minister of State for Defence Shri Jitender Singh Wednesday visited the Office of the DGAFMS here. He was briefed by Air Marshal DP Joshi and DG Air Force Nedical service (AFMS) about the Role of the Armed Forces Medical Service in Peace and Combat Medical support.
The Minister visited the Army Hospital Research and Referral, the apex institute of the Armed Forces yesterday. While on his visit to the various departments of the hospital, he interacted with patients belonging to both serving/Ex-servicemen and their families. He was apprised of the various ultra-modern, high tech medical facilities available in the hospital. The Minister lauded the quality of care rendered in the hospital given with devotion, empathy and dedication.
Minister of State for Defence expressed his commitment and support to the AFMS. He stressed that health of the soldier, sailor and airman, their families and dependants and the veterans was of utmost importance to the Govt of India. The MoD had constantly endeavoured to modernize the Armed Forces Medical Services with provisioning of contemporary cutting edge technology in all our hospitals. He expressed his solidarity for all similar proposals to modernize the AFMS, in the future.
